For the set design of As It Is In Heaven, research was conducted at the Pleasant Hill Shaker Village in Kentucky to study the architecture and spatial relationship within an authentic Shaker Community. This on-site study provided a historical context that informed the simplicity and functionality of the shaker architecture that contrasted with the whimsy of the natural world of the village. These observations directly informed the visual language and spatial dynamics of the final design.
